Obtaining resurrection life is the core of salvation.
Resurrection
life plays the role of reviving the spirit that had died, and the body that the
spirit puts on from heaven is called the resurrected body. Although Paul
explains resurrection in detail in 1 Corinthians 15, believers insist on
seeking the resurrected body from their dead physical bodies.
Although
the Bible states that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God, people
still wait for their bodies to come back to life. There are even people who
freeze themselves after death, expecting to be revived someday when science
advances.
Problems
sometimes arise when implementing systems. We improve systems and progress for
a better future, but sometimes there are instances where things actually go
backward. In such cases, the previous system seems better. Therefore, people
resurrect the previous system. The term "resurrection" is exactly
like this.
Before
being born as a human, people believe that God creates and breathes a spirit
into a child at birth. This is the theory of the creation of the spirit.
However, the spirit already existed in the Kingdom of God previously, and God
puts that spirit into the physical body. It is related to the sinful spirit.
This is the doctrine of the pre-existence of the spirit.
It is
said that when a person is born into the world as a human, their spirit forgets
God and is in a state of death; resurrection is the act of receiving
resurrected life and returning to the previous state of the spirit.
Ephesians
2:5-6 provides the basis for this. It states that He made us alive together
with Christ, even though we were dead in our transgressions, and raised us up
together with Him to be seated in the heavenly places. What was made alive
together is the spirit that was dead, and being seated in the heavenly places
is the resurrection, which is a return to the previous state.
The Old
Testament contains content regarding resurrected life. However, believers do
not fully understand it. The story of Elijah appears in 1 Kings; Elijah, who
ascended to heaven in a whirlwind, symbolizes resurrected life. Enoch, the
fifth-generation descendant of Adam, can also be said to be one who received
resurrected life.
In
Noah's flood, all the people of the world drowned, while Noah and his family
were saved. This signifies that while they died physically, they were
spiritually reborn as new creations. This is resurrected life. Resurrected life
is the process of dying physically and being reborn spiritually as a new
creation. Because believers think only of the resurrected body and the idea of coming back to life after death, they
miss out on resurrected life.
When
the Israelites grumbled against God in the wilderness after the Exodus, God
sent fiery serpents to judge the people. However, as the people cried out and
Moses pleaded, God had a bronze serpent made and raised high on a pole. His
wrath ceased because He promised that everyone who looked at it would live. The
bronze serpent symbolizes resurrected life.
The
scenes where Elijah and Elisha raised the dead widow's son can all be explained
by resurrected life. They serve as a foreshadowing of Jesus Christ, who will
give resurrected life in the future.
Before
Jesus died on the cross, there were three miracles in which He raised the dead:
Lazarus, the widow's son in Nain, and the daughter of Jairus, the synagogue
ruler. Although these occurred before Jesus' death on the cross, they
demonstrate that He is giving resurrected life to the dead. Although
superficially it is the physical body coming back to life, it serves as a
foreshadowing of the future resurrection.
Thus,
resurrection life is what causes the dead spirit to rise again. 1 Peter 3:18
states that Jesus, too, was put to death in the flesh but made alive in the
spirit.
